Why me? Why this? Why now?

To say I don’t enjoy writing, is putting it mildly. I actively avoid it as much as possible. I seldom tweet, let alone blog. I dislike reading anything I occasionally end up writing under compulsion. So it would be a valid question to ask why am I here on Medium starting a blog all of a sudden??

I always felt that writing is a great way of organizing your own thoughts and a wonderful tool to look back in time and your thought process at that point in time. In theory, I am all set. Putting it in practice is where the reluctance is.

There are two extreme ways of inducing a behavior change. Either you develop small incremental changes leading up to a big change over time or you give yourself a shock therapy and dive head-first into it. While the former is widely accepted way, I tend to work better with the latter. That is how I overcame mobile games addiction (by uninstalling every single one of them and never went back) and took up trekking (bought full gear and went to Everest BaseCamp as first big trek).

I am not looking at writing every fortnight, but I want to commit to writing once a quarter (starting with a burst of 2–3 in first month so get over my inhibitions. Head-first!)

And what better time than a new year :). While I am not big on new year resolutions, it is as good a time as any, to do things differently.

So ready or not, here it goes!
